drum recording
We are lucky enough to have had the opportunity to build our media facility from scratch and, as such, it has been specifically designed with audio recording in mind. We have a very spacious 520 square foot live room within our recording studio here on the Isle of Wight, which is fantastic for capturing drums. We have the ability to close down the space and achieve a close mic'd, tight studio drum sound or the luxury of exploiting the space and it's acoustics for a more unique drum sound.

At the front end we have 16 channels of beautifully clean sounding Audient preamps for an upfront, pristine recording. Should the vibe require, we also have several valve driven channel strips for a more characterful, saturated and vintage sounding recording. As musicians ourselves, we have stocked our cupboards with high end microphones from Neumann, SE Electronics, Shure and AKG, all of which have different jobs but can be utilised in order to capture the sound you may be after.

Our resident drum expert Stu has a great selection of Natal drums in both maple and birch, from 22 inch kick drums all the way up to 26 inches, plus matching toms from 8 inches up to 16 inches. A selection of snare drums from Ludwig, Sonor, Pearl and Tama can also be employed to achieve the correct drum sound for your recording. Supremely experienced in live and studio recorded drumming, Stu is also available to guide you through the session, should you require, or take it further and book yourself a 1 to 1 lesson.

At the end of the day, you can have the stems of your recording session to take back home and mix at your leisure. Should you require us to mix the audio, check out our AUDIO MIXING SERVICE here. If you require further instrument recording then please check out our INSTRUMENT RECORDING page here.

If you require further information, please contact us and we'd be happy to discuss your requirements and budget.
